Το Πανεπιστήμιο του Kingston στο Λονδίνο, έχει μία (1) διαθέσιμη θέση για την εκπόνηση διδακτορικής διατριβής πάνω στο αντικείμενο των Aσύρματων Tηλεπικοινωνιών.
Η θέση αυτή είναι διαθέσιμη στο Tμήμα Υπολογιστών και Πληροφοριακών Συστημάτων και συγκεκριμένα στην ερευνητική ομάδα Ασύρματων Πολυμέσων και Δικτύων, η οποία διεθύνεται απο τον κύριο Χρήστο Πολίτη.
Η θέση είναι χρηματοδοτούμενη απο το Yπουργείο Aνάπτυξης της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και έναν τεχνοβλαστό (start-up) του Πανεπιστημίου. Ο υποψήφιος διδάκτορας θα λαμβάνει ετήσιες απολαβές που θα καλύπτουν την πληρωμή των διδάκτρων του καθώς και μία υποτροφία που θα καλύπτει τα έξοδα διαμονής και συντήρησης.

There is an opportunity for a suitable candidate to be sponsored as a PhD Student at Kingston University London. This opportunity essentially entails programming of research findings in the field of fully distributed Peer-to-Peer wireless networks. The research will feed the development of a prototype for a highly active start-up company, which is a close collaborator of the University.
The candidate must have suitable experience in Object-Oriented development projects ideally using C++/Objective-C on Android SDKs and iOS SDK. The candidate should be eager to take the challenge of delivering high quality software implementations for the dynamic start-up company based on high quality research at Kingston University as part of a 3-year fully-funded PhD degree based on EU/UK fees and a competitive stipend.
The candidate's programming skills of C++/Obj-C and SDKs will be tested during the interview process. The candidate should be able to demonstrate good time management skills and follow management instructions to deliver outputs within tight deadlines. Good knowledge of wireless networking and the TCP/IP stack concepts and a Master's degree in a discipline of Computer Science or Electrical/Electronic Engineering are compulsory. Experience in Java developments is also desired.
The EU/UK PhD student fee and stipend offered is highly competitive. The candidate will obtain a PhD degree after 3-years of fulfilling his/her responsibilities subject to satisfactory delivery of research findings and software implementations in collaboration with the start-up company.
